TRAGC : Darjeeling Family Dead In Teesta Mishap This Morning At Likhubhir

A vehicle heading to Birpara from Sikkim plunged into the Teesta River this morning. Sources say no survivors.

The deceased have been identified as Chandan Rai 43yrs, wife Tulsi Rai, son Sargam Rai 19yrs, Sakhi Rai 14yrs, driver Deodut Tamang. They were residents of Darjeeling Singamari and currently residing at Gangtok Bypass said sources. 

They were heading for a religious ceremony to Birpara from Gangtok, Sikkim when this tragic incident took place at Likhubhir near Teesta Bazar. 

The vehicle has been spotted down the river and rescue team is on spot. Presently only the body of Sakhi Rai has been recovered.
