Facebook inform Kolkata Cyber Cell and Prevents Woman from Committing Suicide

A Guwahati woman was saved from committing suicide after the police officials received intimation from Facebook authorities of USA. The incident occurred on Tuesday night when cyber police station, Kolkata received an e-mail from Facebook authority of USA that a female Facebook user uploaded a video on her Facebook profile wherein it was shown that she is going to commit suicide. Facebook authorities also provided the access logs, registered phone number and name of the city. Based on which, it was revealed that the woman in question is a resident of Guwahati.    Further, the local police was alerted about the same and a team rushed to the spot and rescued the woman. She was then admitted to the hospital for treatment.

Coronavirus Reaches Northeast, One Suspected Case Detected in Imphal

A 31-year-old woman from Imphal, Manipur has been detected with the symptoms of the deadly Coronavirus. Accoording to reports, the woman who recently returned on January 20 from Hong Kong has been admitted to Regional Institute of Medical Sciences (RIMS), Imphal with complaints of headache, sneezing and running nose. Reportedly, Coronavirus which have originated in China has impacted over 5000 people with over 130 people death till now. Meanwhile the Indian Nationals residing in China has also begun the process of evacuating from Wuhan in China which is said to be highly impacted by the Coronavirus. An hour ago, around 11 am locals saw the dead body of a new born baby thrown in a plastic carry bag at Debidanga's 2nd bridge near petrol pump. Sources say that it is a baby boy. Huge crowd has gathered and the police too has reached the spot. It is assumed that somebody must have thrown the baby's body from the bridge with the intention to drown it in the river water but it somehow fell along the side of river banks. West Bengal State employees to enjoy five-day holiday for Saraswati Puja

State government employees would enjoy five-day holiday on the occasion of upcoming Saraswati Puja. In a notification issued by the state finance department today, a holiday has been declared on 29 January in connection with Saraswati Puja. As per the state government’s 2020 calendar that was notified in November, holidays were declared on 30 and 31 January in connection with Saraswati Puja. This year, Saraswati Puja will be celebrated on two days. The puja timing starts from around 11 am on 29 January till 10 am on 30 January. Thus, state government has decided to remain closed on both the days and thus, 29 January has been included in the list of holidays. With 1 and 2 February being Saturday and Sunday respectively, government offices would remain closed from 29 January to 2 February. Employees would thus be able to enjoy five days of consecutive holidays. As per the state government’s 2020 calendar, the total number of public holidays in a year now stands at 43. If week

Madhu NC, a bus conductor with BMTC, studied five hours daily to clear the UPSC Civil Services exam. After successfully clearing the Mains, Madhu is looking forward to the interview on March 25. The BMTC bus conductor is the first in his family of elder brother, sister-in-law and parents, to go to school. His mother is thrilled, sharing Madhu's emotions while not equally understanding the importance of the results. 3RD DAY, 3RD ACCIDENT AT SEVOKE

A SIKKIM number passenger vehicle heading towards Jorethang from Siliguri collided with a parked truck near Sevoke petrol pump this morning.  Sources say there were 10 passengers in it out of which 4 have been badly injured including driver. Condition of 2 passengers is extremely critical. Sevoke Police along with locals rushed to spot and rescued them. Injured have been admitted in a hospital at Siliguri.  Since last 3 days continuous accident have been taking place at Sevoke. On Sunday a passenger vehicle had fallen on the cliff, luckily no casualties. A mini truck met with an accident at the same place where a vehicle fell off the cliff last day. The mini truck was heading towards Sikkim. The driver was unhurt in the process but the truck was badly damaged. The Sevoke Civic Volunteers came to rescue and saved the driver and even helped to take the truck out. TRAGIC: Talented Football Player from Darjeeling, Chetan Raj Rai Dead in Accident

We are sad to report the death of Cetan Raj Rai, from Dali in Darjeeling. He was a talented football player who studied in West point school Darjeeling, and represented St. Joseph's college in university levels, he was much endeared and loved by all. He met with a tragic accident on Rohini Road, last night. One of his friends Manish Chettri has informed us that "He was traveling with his cousin Chirag Lohar, and at around 9:30 PM they met with an accident, both couldn't make it." We extend our heartfelt condolences to his family and friends, and pray to God to grant them strength to overcome this tragic loss.

YOUTH CRITICALLY INJURED IN BIKE ACCIDENT AT SHIBMANDIR LAST NIGHT

A terrible bike accident took place at Shibmandir near Medical More last night around 1am. The biker has been identified as Rohan Chanda, resident of Shibmandir. He has sustained acute head injury, both his hands are left broken with several spine fractures. His condition is extremely critical. We pray that he recovers soon..

TRAGC : Darjeeling Family Dead In Teesta Mishap This Morning At Likhubhir

A vehicle heading to Birpara from Sikkim plunged into the Teesta River this morning. Sources say no survivors. The deceased have been identified as Chandan Rai 43yrs, wife Tulsi Rai, son Sargam Rai 19yrs, Sakhi Rai 14yrs, driver Deodut Tamang. They were residents of Darjeeling Singamari and currently residing at Gangtok Bypass said sources.  They were heading for a religious ceremony to Birpara from Gangtok, Sikkim when this tragic incident took place at Likhubhir near Teesta Bazar.  The vehicle has been spotted down the river and rescue team is on spot. Presently only the body of Sakhi Rai has been recovered.
