Missing Girl from North East Rescued from Khalpara Red Light Area of Siliguri after 8 Months

After almost 8 months since a missing report was lodged at Dispur Police Station, a victim of human trafficking who hails from Jowai, West Jaintia Hills in Meghalaya was finally traced from Khalpara, Siliguri in West Bengal by a joint team of Meghalaya and Assam police recently. The joint team rescued the victim from Khalpara Siliguri on September 22, who was kept under confinement, and unite her with her parents who had accompanied the police team, after nearly 8 months of her disappearance. The 24-year old young lady is a resident of Jowai and was working as a Nursing intern at the GNRC Hospital Guwahati and staying as a paying guest in the Super Market area which is about 50 metres from the hospital. The young girl had gone missing under mysterious circumstances on February 2 without anybody having any information on her whereabouts. On February 2, an FIR was by the victim’s mother on her daughter’s disappearance at Dispur Police Station. She then again filed a Missing r
