8 killed, 25 injured after a bus fell into a canal in Nadia's Tehatta area of West Bengal. Locals say that 12 people are dead.
West Bengal government announces ex-gratia of Rs. 2 lakhs each for the next of kin of those who have lost their lives in Nadia bus accident.
Krishnanagar - Karimpur highway. Bus name Lakhhi Narayon bus. Incident took place today afternoon at 12.10pm. Injured have been rushed to hospital. Sources say death toll could rise.

Middle age man commits suicide by jumping infront of a train near Siliguri

A man said to be in his forties jumped in front of a local train heading to Katihar from Siliguri junction today morning around 11am near Naxalbari station at Panitanki outpost. The body of the man was cut into two halves. Sources say the deceased looks like a Nepali and could be a resident of Nepal as the incident took place near India-Nepal border. The train was immediately stopped after the incident. The body was later recovered by the railway staff and sent for post mortem. Train services resumed after a delay of 30 minutes said sources.
