BSF arrests a Bangladeshi cattle smuggler from the international border area of CoochBehar

Troops of Guwahati Frontier of Border Security Force apprehended one Bangladeshi cattle smuggler on July  31 from the International Border under Cooch Behar district of West Bengal . On the intervening night of  July 31 and August 1, the alerted troops of BOP Baragariya of 140 Bn BSF deployed in Cooch Behar district were keeping surveillance and domination over border area. They observed suspicious movement of one miscreant along IB who had cross it illegally. He tried to escape towards Bangladesh but was apprehended by the troops. He has been identified as Bangladeshi cattle smuggler named Rabiul Islam (30 Yrs), resident of Dhabolgur Uttar Para village, under Patgram Police Station, of Lalmonirhat (Bangladesh). He further revealed that he had crossed the IB with intention to finalize deal for cattle smuggling and also divulge about his Indian associates. One mobile phone with dual SIM, Vodofone (Indian) and Grameephoe (Bangladesh),  one long wire cutter, were recovered from his possession. He has been handed over to Mathabhang Police Station, of Cooch Behar district for further legal action.
Beside, BSF troops of Guwahati Frontier seized  61 cattle heads having approximate value of Rs. 3,99,030/-  and miscellaneous items amounting to Rs.22,542/- on intervening night of July 31 and August 1. This was stated in a press release.
