Kalimpong man gets rigorous life imprisonment for raping his own 14 year old daughter since 2012

RIGOROUS LIFE IMPRISONMENT SENTENCED TO RAN BAHADUR RAI FOR ALLEGEDLY RAPING HIS DAUGHTER AND TEN YEARS RIGOROUS IMPRISONMENT TO SUBASH RAI FOR ALLEGED MOLESTING THE SAID VICTIM.

Sessions case No 89/14 corresponding to Kalimpong P.S. Case No 230/14

Despite of the political turmoil in the Hills the Judiciary is yet determined to punish the perpetrators of law. Today at the Additional Sesions Judge Court II, Darjeeling sentenced Ran Bahadur Rai for Rigorous Life Imprisonment and Subash Rai for R.I. Ten years. In this case the minor daughter aged 14 yrs  of the convict Ran Bahadur Rai, aged 44 complained of allegedly being a victim of rape since 2012, and the co accused convict Subash Rai,42, resident of 12 and a half mile near Pranami Mandir and also an employee of Pranami Mandir, too would take chances on different occasions and molest the girl child. The victim girl ultimately reported the matter to her aunts who instead reported the matter to the Child Welfare Committee. An F.I.R. was lodged and the custody of the minor victim girl child was taken by Bal Suraksha Abhiyan Trust, Kalimpong. Charge Sheet was filed against both the convicts and Charge was framed on the 4th Day Of December 2014. In total 8 witnesses were examined.
