Elderly man dies after coming under the wheels of a train at Sevoke near Siliguri today afternoon

An elderly man in his fifties came under the wheels of Capital Express today afternoon at 2.40pm at Sevoke railway bridge near Siliguri.
The man's legs and hands were severed by the train and head fully crushed killing him on the spot.
Train services were disrupted for a while which even caused highway jam for sometime.
Eyewitness Dilip ji who took the pics informed us it could be an accident.
The body was later rescued and taken by police for identification and post mortem. If anyone knows him kindly contact Sevoke police station.

Middle age man commits suicide by jumping infront of a train near Siliguri

A man said to be in his forties jumped in front of a local train heading to Katihar from Siliguri junction today morning around 11am near Naxalbari station at Panitanki outpost. The body of the man was cut into two halves. Sources say the deceased looks like a Nepali and could be a resident of Nepal as the incident took place near India-Nepal border. The train was immediately stopped after the incident. The body was later recovered by the railway staff and sent for post mortem. Train services resumed after a delay of 30 minutes said sources.
