Rs 2.35 lakh crore investment proposals received at Bengal Global Business Summit 2017

Speaking at the Plenary Session of the Day 2 of Bengal Global Business Summit, Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee announced that the Summit has received an investment proposal to the tune of Rs 2 lakh 35,200 crore (US$ 36 billion).

The Chief Minister announced that the investments in the major sectors as follows:

        Manufacturing sector: Rs 61,765 crore        MSME sector: Rs 50,710 crore        Urban Development sector: Rs 46,600 crore        Transport sector: Rs 36,801 crore

The Chief Minister said that China will invest Rs 27,200 crore in the State while South Korea will be investing in Green City project and MoU has been signed with HIDCO in this regard

The Bengal Chief Minister said that this was the first time 29 countries participated in the Bengal Global Business Summit. In the previous two years Bengal received investment proposals worth Rs 4.93 lakh crore, she informed.
