Two youths coming to Sikkim from Siliguri caught with drugs by Rangpo Police

Two youths have been arrested by Rangpo Police following recovery of substantial amount of contraband drugs from their possession.

The arrested are Umesh Rai (26) and Kiran Tamang (22), both residents of Melli, West Bengal.

The duo was intercepted at Rangpo Border Check Post today morning on suspicion of being in possession of contraband substances. The contraband is doubted to have been procured by them from Siliguri. They were on their way to Rangpo, East Sikkim from West Bengal side on foot. Search led to recovery of 552 capsules of Spasmoproxyvon and 80 tablets of Nitrazepam concealed inside their backpack.

Rangpo Police have registered a case under relevant section of Sikkim Anti Drugs Act, 2006 against the duo. The case is under investigation.
