Centre team to assess Siliguri hospital
A Quality Assurance Team of the Union ministry of health and family welfare will visit Siliguri District Hospital to review whether the hospital, which has been included under the Kayakalp scheme under the ministry, has fulfilled the criteria prescribed under the scheme.

The hospital Rogi Kalyan Samity(RKS) chairman, Rudranath Bhattacharya said the Centre had allotted Rs.50 lakh for the hospital under the scheme. “Out of the amount 25% would be spent for the hospital staff. A central team will visit the hospital to ascertain whether it has fulfilled the criteria,” Dr Bhattacharya said after the RKS meeting on Thursday.
The hospitals get the funds under the scheme but they need to fulfil certain criteria including cleanliness and hygiene.There are seven criteria under the scheme. Bhattacharya also said the renovation work of the blood bank of the hospital had been started.“After the completion of the renovation work a blood separation unit would be set up,” he added. (SNS)
