Water Pipeline Breakage at Nippon Hydel Project at Lodhoma in Darjeeling

Breakage of pipeline at Nippon Hydel Plant at Lodhoma caused massive water flow today, triggering fears of landslides in the region.
According to some, it could have have been caused due to Penstock burst.
Reports suggest that the breakage has been controlled and no one was hurt due to the incident. Nippon Hydel Project has abysmal safety records, and only a month ago there was a landslide in the region causing death of a family of three, locals had attributed the landslide to the hydel project.
