School girl repeatedly gang-raped at Lebong in Darjeeling, 3 taxi drivers arrested

17 years old school girl was raped in two occasion on 25 July and 01 Aug while she was going to school. After parents lodged complaint three persons are arrested and one absconding namely:

1. Deepan Rawat (30) hailing from Lebong Gofley Fatak - Arrested
2. Bijendra Khawas (21) from Kothi Gaon - Arrested
3. Sushant Pradhan (23) from Upper Harsing - Arrested
4. Ajay Tamang from Banekburn is ABSCONDING

All of them are Taxi Drivers said WB Darjeeling Police. Darjeeling Lebong Taxi Syndicate has condemned the heinous act and has seek for stringent action against all of the culprits.

Middle age man commits suicide by jumping infront of a train near Siliguri

A man said to be in his forties jumped in front of a local train heading to Katihar from Siliguri junction today morning around 11am near Naxalbari station at Panitanki outpost. The body of the man was cut into two halves. Sources say the deceased looks like a Nepali and could be a resident of Nepal as the incident took place near India-Nepal border. The train was immediately stopped after the incident. The body was later recovered by the railway staff and sent for post mortem. Train services resumed after a delay of 30 minutes said sources.
