Lake formed in Sikkim after massive landslide on Kanaka river at Mantam village named by CM

Chief minister Pawan Chamling has said the lake that was formed after a landslide near the Kanaka river in North district will be named after Lepcha chief Thekong Thek.

On August 13, a slide at Mantam village had resulted in the formation of the lake and 23 houses had submerged in it. The water body, to be known as Thekong Thek Lake, is 300m long, 100m wide and 70m deep. (Telegraph)
