3 College Students from Kolkata Killed In Mandarmani Beach Mishap Today Morning - 4 others Injured

In a tragic mishap three youths from Kolkata’s Rajarhat area were killed and four others were injured in Mandarmani sea beach on Sunday as the car they were travelling (a BMW) had a head on collision with a vehicle coming from opposite side. The accident took place around 6:00 am today. The injured have been rushed to Tamluk Hospital by police of Mandarmani Coastal police station. The deceased have been identified as Baibhav Rajnish (21), Suraj Dasgupta (20) and Shivraj Naskar (21). As per reports, Shivraj was a student of a famed educational institute in England and came to his native place Beliaghata last week for holidays. The other two were residents of Rajarhat area of the city. Although driving on the beach is prohibited, rampant violation can been seen as dozens of vehicles ply on the beach each day. Even after today’s accident vehicles were seen plying on the beach. The police have been reluctant to put a reign on the speed stars.

Middle age man commits suicide by jumping infront of a train near Siliguri

A man said to be in his forties jumped in front of a local train heading to Katihar from Siliguri junction today morning around 11am near Naxalbari station at Panitanki outpost. The body of the man was cut into two halves. Sources say the deceased looks like a Nepali and could be a resident of Nepal as the incident took place near India-Nepal border. The train was immediately stopped after the incident. The body was later recovered by the railway staff and sent for post mortem. Train services resumed after a delay of 30 minutes said sources.
