2 female employees of State Bank of Sikkim arrested for duping bank Rs 5 Lakh
Two State Bank of Sikkim SBS employees named Miss Deepika Chettri (Zonal manager SBS Namchi) and Mrs Geeta Sherpa (Clerk SBS HQ Gangtok) arrested by Sikkim Vigilance Police for duping Bank Rs 5 Lakh.
In this case SBS cashier Man Dorjee Tamang shall also be question after recovery from his Ill health.
Masqureading Case :
Rs 5 lakhs cheque was shown withdrawn from a cheque book, that cheque book which wasn't issued to any account holder.
Now, that Rs 5 cheque was then shown issued from one account holder in name of Ajay Kumar Gupta, Ajay Kumar Gupta endorsed said cheque in name of Sanjay Kumar.
Original account holder was shcoked having found Rs 5 lakh was withdrawn fraudulently, account holder demanded money back which bank refunded. Then internal inquiry started where following process had took place in release of cheque.
Cheque was processed and passed by competent authority Miss Deepika Chettri , cheque entry in computer was made by teller Clerk Mrs Geeta Sherpa , payment clearance of cheque was done in cash by cashier Man Dorjee Tamang. Tamang is presently hospitalized at STNM.
