North and South Bengal Rail Connectivity Down Due to Floods - Several Trains Halted, Many Cancelled

Due to flood situation in North East Frontier Railway jurisdiction North Bengal bound trains originating from Sealdah/Howrah/Bhagalpur are delaying enroute and had to be controlled.

12343 Up Darjeeling Mail & 12377 Up Padatik Express leaving Sealdah on 12.8.2017 detaining at Murarai & Chatra stations respectively, 12503 Up Bangalore Cantt- Kamakhya Express detaining at Bansloi Bridge station and 14056 Delhi-Dibrugarh Brahmaputra Mail detaining at Sahibganj.

13147 Up Uttarbanga Express and 13149 Up Kanchankanya Express leaving Sealdah on 12.8.2017 had been short terminated at Malda Town and returning from there to Sealdah as passenger special train. Besides, 15659 Up Kanchanjungha Express scheduled to leave Sealdah station today (13.08.2017) has been cancelled.

Instructions have been given to all DRMs to control the trains at relatively bigger stations and monitor the availability of adequate food , catering arrangement and drinking water at those stations for the convenience of the passengers. Instructions have also been given for cleaning & watering the compartments of the trains delaying, adequate security arrangement and attending the need of the passengers.

Update:

12988 AJMER - SEALDAH SHARIFF EXPRESS IS EXPECTED TO ARRIVE SEALDAH AT 22:10 HRS TODAY INSTEAD OF 16:00 HRS.
THEREFORE 12987 SEALDAH - AJMER SHARIFF EXPRESS IS EXPECTED TO DEPART ON MONDAY INSTEAD OF TODAY AT 23:05 HRS.

Update:

All trains are cancelled from Malda to NJP / Siliguri due to excessive Flood... If anyone travelling please don't resume your journey...
Express trains are returning back to Sealdah / Howrah.
