Newly married woman murders husband coz her relatives and friends said he is not handsome

A newly married woman allegedly murdered her husband by smashing his head with a grinding stone, upset that he was not handsome, police said on Tuesday. The 22-year old woman, who got married about a week ago, attacked her husband fatally on Monday night in their house in Cuddalore following a quarrel.

Police said the woman started hating her husband, a wood sculptor in his mid 20s, because her friends and relatives said he was not handsome and not a match for her. Though the woman came out and cried saying someone has murdered her husband, police after investigations arrested her on Tuesday on the charge of killing him. She was produced before a local court which remanded her to judicial custody.

Middle age man commits suicide by jumping infront of a train near Siliguri

A man said to be in his forties jumped in front of a local train heading to Katihar from Siliguri junction today morning around 11am near Naxalbari station at Panitanki outpost. The body of the man was cut into two halves. Sources say the deceased looks like a Nepali and could be a resident of Nepal as the incident took place near India-Nepal border. The train was immediately stopped after the incident. The body was later recovered by the railway staff and sent for post mortem. Train services resumed after a delay of 30 minutes said sources.
