Jaya defends Mamata in Parliament: Says You can protect cows, but women are facing atrocities

Today's Rajya Sabha session in the Parliament saw MP Jaya Bachchan lashing out on BJP after a youth leader of the party announced a Rs 11 lakh reward for Mamata Banerjee's head.

Member of the Samajwadi Party, Bachchan showed her displeasure when she said, "You can protect cows, but women are facing atrocities."

A member of the Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha, Yogesh Varshney was captured on camera threatening the Bengal Chief Minister after the police crackdown on a Hanuman Jayanti rally in Birbhum, Kolkata.

Bachchan didn't stop there. She further asked, "How dare anybody talk like this, especially about women? Is this the way you are going to be protecting the women of this country? Women are feeling insecure...is this what you are promoting?"
