A father and his daughter are crushed to death under the wheels of Teesta Express train in Sreepur upazila of Gazipur on Saturday, April 29, 2017. 

The father and his daughter were crushed to death under the wheels of Teesta Express train in Sreepur upazila of Gazipur this morning.

The deceased were identified as Hazrat Ali, 45, and his adopted daughter Ayesha Khatun, 8, of Karnapur Sitpara village in the upazila, our Gazipur correspondent reports quoting a railway official.

They were crushed under the wheels of Dewanganj-bound Teesta Express near Sreepur Railway Station around 9:00am, said Shahjahan Mian, the station station master.

“They might have committed suicide, he said.

“My husband and daughter left home around 8:30am,” said Halima Begum, wife of Hazrat Ali.

Her husband was depressed over a case, Halima said.
