Cold Blooded Murder in Siliguri - Mallaguri Resident Shot Dead Point Blank at Khoribari

Satyendra Prasad, a businessman had gone to have dinner at a dhaba at Khoribari near Naxalbari Siliguri with his friends and business associates last night.

All of a sudden one of his friend and business associate shot him two times and fled from the area. This happened between 11pm to 12am last night.

The remaining friends immediately rushed Satyendra to nearby hospital where he breath his last. Sources say on way to hospital Satyendra spoke to his wife.

Satyendra is a resident of Tea Action Road at Mallaguri. It has been alleged that friend and resident from same area Harindar Yadav killed Satyendra.

Today public in anger were about to burn down Harindar's house but police stopped this. Full police force is seen in the area now as tension prevails.

Deceased Satyendra's body arrived a while ago after post mortem from North Bengal Medical College and Hospital at his residence in Mallaguri. The same has been taken to Kiran Chandra Burning Ghat for last rites.

An FIR has been lodged against Harindar and police are searching him.

Middle age man commits suicide by jumping infront of a train near Siliguri

A man said to be in his forties jumped in front of a local train heading to Katihar from Siliguri junction today morning around 11am near Naxalbari station at Panitanki outpost. The body of the man was cut into two halves. Sources say the deceased looks like a Nepali and could be a resident of Nepal as the incident took place near India-Nepal border. The train was immediately stopped after the incident. The body was later recovered by the railway staff and sent for post mortem. Train services resumed after a delay of 30 minutes said sources.
