Bengal Govt Sets Up 26 Helipads in Districts

With the inspiration of Mamata Banerjee, the Bengal Government has given air transport and helicopter services in the State a new direction. Twenty six government helipads have been constructed across the State at district headquarters and other important locations.

The work for the construction of 24 such helipads has been completed. These include: Cooch Behar, Alipurduar, Jalpaiguri, Jaigaon, Chalsha, Balurghat, Malda, Behrampore, Krishnanagar, Santiniketan, Bankura, Charrah, Jhargram, Medinipur, Digha, Haldia, Arambagh, Chinsurah, Basirhat, Bongaon, Canning, Sagar, Dumurjola, Behala.

Work is in progress for two more helipads at Falakata and Mukutmanipur.
