2 girls from Nepal being trafficked to Delhi via India-Nepal border rescued by Maiti Nepal NGO

NGO Maiti Nepal rescued two girls who were being trafficked to India through Nepal-India border point.

The girls were being duped with a prospect of foreign employment. The estimated 22 – year – old from Sindhupalchowk and 30 – year – old from Solukhumbu were being taken on a bus (Ba 3 Kha 4168) towards New Delhi, India from Kathmandu when the anti-trafficking organization made the interception and rescued them.

"We rescued the girls as one of them were wearing a Lama's rob under the pretext of being sent to Dharmasala in India," Maiti Nepal Kanchanpur Coordinator, Maheshwori Bhatta said.

Another girl had been asked by the traffickers to wear Sherpa attire but she had declined, it was revealed in course of an interrogation.
