Series of Earthquakes Rock NorthEast India
A mild earthquake of 3.3 magnitude struck West Khasi Hills district on Saturday at 12.20 pm.
According to sources from Meteorological department, an earthquake measuring 3.3 on the Richter scale with Lat:25.5 N & Long: 90.9 E, depth: 10 Km hit West Khasi Hills on Friday at 12.20 pm Region:West Khasi Hills, Meghalaya.
ASSAM at 7.39 am on March 4
It may be mentioned that an earthquake measuring 5.0 on the Richter Scale hit Assam and parts of Northeast India on Saturday morning approximately at 7:39 am, officials said.
MANIPUR at 5.02 am on March 4
The first earthquake today morning was reported from Manipur’s Chandel at 5.02 AM where the earthquake was measured to be of magnitude 3.5
The IMD website has called the intensity of the quake as ‘moderate’.
The epicentre of the quake was located near the Indo-Myanmar border.The region has been subjected to weather change with winds & seasonal rains reported at Guwahati for the last two days.Northeast India region, being in the Zone V has experienced quite a few moderate quakes, last month as well.
