2 Darjeeling Child Scientists participate in 24th West Bengal Science and Technology Congress

Darjeeling girls  Prasanna Chettri and Ridhika Basnet took part in the 24th West  Bengal Science & Technology Congress held on 28th Feb and 1st March on the occasion of National Science day in Science City Kolkata. Child Scientist Ridhika Basnet (14yrs) from St. Teresa's G.H.S School represented West Bengal in the 24th National Children's Science Congress -2016  in VIIT Baramati, Maharashtra.

Prasanna Chettri (15yrs) from St Michael's H..S School was selected for an outstanding project work in the National Children's Science Congress.

Ridhika Basnet did her extensive work on "Retention of soil moisture by the process of mulching" whereas Prasanna  Chettri presented  her paper presentation titled "Lycopodium a quietly dwindling plant in the hills of Darjeeling" in the presence of some eminent scientist of India like Prof. Partho Chatterjee, Dr B.N. Das, Dr Subashish Chatterjee, Dr D.D . Sarma. Prof. Jyotesha Roy. The judging panel highly appreciated and felicitated them for their research work.
