Rose Valley Scam: CBI Arrests Trinamool Congress MP Sudip Bandhopadhyay
Trinamool Congress Lok Sabha MP Sudip Bandyopadhyay was arrested on Tuesday by the CBI for his alleged involvement in Rs 60,000 Cr Rose Valley group chit fund scam.
CM Mamata Banerjee questioned that if Sudip Banerjee could be arrested, why could Babul Supriyo not be arrested. She even demanded the arrest of Amit Shah and Narendra Modi and Rahul Sinha. She has arranged for an emergency meeting with her members of the party after the arrest.
Sudip Banerjee’s wife Naina Banerjee said that she has no rection to this news, The party would speak on this matter and hence refused to comment.
The CBI alleged that he refused to answer to several questions and on the basis of that (unavailability of proper information) he was arrested. The CBI alleged that Sudip was trying to hide important details.
In the morning, he reached at CBI office for questioning and later he was arrested by the central probe agency.
Earlier, Bandopadhyay had said that he would appear before the CBI on January three in connection with the investigation and co-operated with the agencies.
“I have come to clarify my position on whatever questions they have,” he said.
On December 30, Actor-turned-Trinamool Congress MP Tapas Pal was arrested by the CBI for his alleged involvement in the scam.
Tapas Pal’s daughter Sohini too appeared before the CBI for interrogation in Bhubaneswar for the second time
The Rose Valley scam is believed to be the biggest ponzi fraud in India and the scam itself is at least seven times bigger than Saradha scam.
