Dangerous accident near Sevoke today afternoon - Driver of both vehicles critically injured

A Bihar number Maruti Suzuki Ertiga in full speed collided with a Maruti van near Sevoke today afternoon. Both vehicles overturned after the accident.

Sources say the Bihar number vehicle was reserved by a family and heading towards the hills when suddenly it lost balance and crashed against a local Maruti van coming from the opposite end.

Passengers in both the vehicles are safe but the drivers have been injured and admitted at a hospital in Siliguri.

The traffic was effected due to this but police soon reached on spot and controlled the situation, said sources.

Middle age man commits suicide by jumping infront of a train near Siliguri

A man said to be in his forties jumped in front of a local train heading to Katihar from Siliguri junction today morning around 11am near Naxalbari station at Panitanki outpost. The body of the man was cut into two halves. Sources say the deceased looks like a Nepali and could be a resident of Nepal as the incident took place near India-Nepal border. The train was immediately stopped after the incident. The body was later recovered by the railway staff and sent for post mortem. Train services resumed after a delay of 30 minutes said sources.
