A vehicle heading to Birpara from Sikkim plunged into the Teesta River this morning. Sources say no survivors.

The deceased have been identified as Chandan Rai 43yrs, wife Tulsi Rai, son Sargam Rai 19yrs, Sakhi Rai 14yrs, driver Deodut Tamang. They were residents of Darjeeling Singamari and currently residing at Gangtok Bypass said sources. 
They were heading for a religious ceremony to Birpara from Gangtok, Sikkim when this tragic incident took place at Likhubhir near Teesta Bazar. 
The vehicle has been spotted down the river and rescue team is on spot. Presently only the body of Sakhi Rai has been recovered.

Biker Dead, Pilon Rider Critical After Hit by Truck near Salugara this Morning

A bike was hit head-on by a truck near Salugara this morning. As per sources the bike rider is dead and the pilon rider who is a lady is extremely critically injured and admitted at Anandaloke Hospital. The truck driver fled from the spot with the truck. One of our followers grabbed a picture of the truck and has informed police it's vehicle number. If you see the truck please inform police. It's number is WB783683.

TRAGIC : Class 12 Girl from Jorethang, Sikkim Succumbed to Injuries. She was preparing for her upcoming examinations in Siliguri and was returning back home today. Sources informed that she was a brilliant student. 

May her soul rest in peace and may God give strength and courage to her family and friends in this moment of grief and sorrow.
Update:  A Class XII student of Jorethang Government School named Niziya Praveen dies in tragic road accident today at Sevoke. She had boarded on Sumo vehicle bearing number SK 04J 0391 in the morning today which collided with a truck in Sevoke. She was preparing for her board exams but she left this World with her unfinished dreams. RIP
